The Maidens - one of the most anticipated books of 2021!!!
I was fascinated with how the author chose to weave Greek mythology into this thriller. From the start, this novel reminded me of how much I enjoy Greek mythology and that I need to read more in this genre - fiction or non-fiction. The dark academia, thriller was definitely appealing.

This is a great whodunnit novel. Mariana travels to her alma mater - Cambridge University. The trip is unplanned, she leaves after her niece, Zoe, calls with the news of a murder.

Mariana becomes obsessed with proving the murderer to be a professor. So many questions, so much evidence. But who did it?!

The ending fell a little short for me, I thought it wrapped up too quickly. I could have used more information.

Overall I was captivated by the story and would recommend!! Four stars :)

I will add - there are some trigger and content warnings associated with this book- abuse being the most common.
